TOPIC 2 – Adaptive and Multifunctional Forest Management Systems
Our group is interested in joining consortia for the FOREST Joint Call as a research and technology partner. We develop AI-based computer vision and Earth Observation solutions, combining UAV-based remote sensing with satellite data analysis.
Our expertise includes image analysis, object detection, mapping, vegetation and forest monitoring, and the integration of multi-scale EO data into planning, decision-support and robotic systems.
We are particularly interested in projects related to forest monitoring, reforestation planning, adaptive forest management and robotic forest operations.
We would be happy to connect with consortia looking for expertise in AI, computer vision, UAV-based remote sensing and satellite Earth Observation.
Fraunhofer IGD is a leading applied research institute in Visual Computing, with more than 30 years of experience in computer vision, image analysis and AI-based data processing. Our research covers advanced image and sensor data analysis, object detection, Earth Observation, UAV-based remote sensing and the processing of large heterogeneous datasets. We develop application-oriented solutions from research concepts to demonstrators and prototypes, working closely with industry and research partners. For the FOREST Joint Call, we are particularly interested in contributing our expertise in AI-based computer vision, satellite and UAV Earth Observation, mapping and monitoring to applications in forest management, reforestation and ecosystem monitoring.
