TOPIC 2 – Adaptive and Multifunctional Forest Management Systems
University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), through the Environment and Forest Resources Research Group (MARFO), is interested in joining a transnational consortium under TOPIC 2 – Adaptive and Multifunctional Forest Management Systems.
Our team offers expertise in Mediterranean forest management, silviculture, forest ecology, ecosystem monitoring, remote sensing, modelling and assessment of forest responses to management interventions and climate stress.
We are particularly interested in collaborative research on adaptive silvicultural strategies, multifunctional forest management, management responses to drought and disturbance, post-treatment ecosystem recovery, trade-offs and synergies among ecosystem services, and monitoring and decision-support tools for forest managers.
UCLM can contribute Mediterranean forest experimental and monitoring sites in Spain, field observations, forest inventory data, Earth observation and climate datasets, and methods for evaluating the effectiveness of management interventions. We are particularly interested in comparative studies testing the transferability and scalability of adaptive management approaches across forest types and climatic regions.

UCLM can contribute Mediterranean and semi-arid forest case studies, experimental sites and methodological expertise for developing and validating adaptive, evidence-based and multifunctional forest management approaches, with particular attention to resilience, ecosystem services and practical decision support.
