TOPIC 2 – Adaptive and Multifunctional Forest Management Systems
AICFD is interested in joining a consortium under Topic 2 – Adaptive and Multifunctional Forest Management Systems, contributing to the socio-economic, cultural and governance dimensions of forest management and climate adaptation.
Our expertise lies in assessing how innovative environmental and climate adaptation solutions interact with territorial realities, including their socio-economic impacts and benefits, stakeholder needs and perceptions, governance and institutional conditions, and the barriers and enabling factors influencing their implementation. We are currently applying these approaches in European R&I projects such as FOCAL (Horizon Europe), particularly in the socio-economic assessment of climate adaptation solutions and their interaction with stakeholders and policy contexts.
AICFD can also contribute through its Living Lab in Spain, providing a real-world environment for experimentation, demonstration and co-creation with territorial actors. This combination enables us to support not only the assessment of innovative forest management solutions, but also their practical implementation, transferability and potential replication across different territorial contexts.
AICFD – International Association for Disruptive and Frontier Science is a Spanish non-profit organisation focused on transforming advanced research and innovation into operational and scalable solutions for rural territories. The organisation participates in European R&I initiatives related to climate adaptation, forest resilience, environmental innovation and rural development, working at the interface between scientific and technological development, territorial implementation and policy.
AICFD combines expertise in European project implementation with socio-economic and governance assessment, stakeholder engagement, co-creation and Living Lab approaches. Through its network and territorial activities in Spain, the organisation supports the connection between research, public authorities, local actors and end users, facilitating the uptake and transfer of innovative solutions in real-world contexts.
