TOPIC 2 – Adaptive and Multifunctional Forest Management Systems
I am seeking to join a consortium as a funded partner from NIVA (Norway). My expertise combines forestry, geoinformatics, remote sensing, GIS and environmental data science, and I am interested in contributing to projects under any of the four FOREST PATHWAYS topics where geospatial and environmental monitoring expertise is needed.
I hold a BSc in Forestry and an MSc in Geoinformatics, with more than 15 years of professional experience in GIS, remote sensing, spatial analysis and environmental data management. I currently work as a System Developer at NIVA, where I develop geospatial data solutions, web-based platforms and decision-support systems for environmental monitoring and research.
My potential contributions include:
• Satellite and drone-based forest monitoring.
• Remote sensing, GeoAI and machine-learning applications for land cover mapping and change detection.
• Spatial analysis of forest ecosystems, water resources and environmental impacts.
• Development of WebGIS platforms, dashboards and geospatial data infrastructures.
• Integration, visualization and dissemination of environmental data to researchers, authorities and stakeholders.
I am particularly interested in collaborations involving Earth observation, digital solutions for sustainable forest management, climate adaptation, ecosystem-service assessment and environmental monitoring. I can contribute to or lead work packages related to GIS, remote sensing, data integration, software development and dissemination activities.
I welcome discussions with coordinators and consortium partners looking for expertise in geospatial technologies and environmental data science.
The Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) is Norway's premier research institute in the fields of water and the environment. We are experts on ecosystems in both freshwater and marine environments, from mountains, via lakes and rivers, to fjords, coasts and oceans. We develop science-based knowledge and solutions to challenges related to the interaction between water and climate, the environment, nature, people, resources and society. NIVA hosts SeaBee, Norway's national infrastructure for drone-based environmental research and monitoring. I work at NIVA's Grimstad office as a GIS developer, specialising in remote sensing, GeoAI and geospatial platforms.
