TOPIC 4 – Forest Value Chains, Markets and Governance
Our research group at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden can contribute expertise across the processing chain, from wood debarking and chipping through pulping and bleaching to final textile, packaging and/or paper products. This enables us to investigate how raw material selection and processing conditions influence the properties and performance of the final product. We have lab and pilot scale equipment; and relevant analyses for pulp and paper industry, and well as for texile industry.
We welcome collaboration with research organisations, pulp and paper producers, textile companies, technology providers and other industrial partners. Potential interests include innovative pulping and bleaching processes, improved utilisation of wood resources, reduced chemical and energy consumption, and cellulose-based alternatives to fossil-based materials.
RISE Research Institutes of Sweden is Sweden’s independent, state-owned research institute and innovation partner, working with industry, academia and the public sector to support sustainable development and industrial competitiveness.
Our research group focuses on converting wood into pulp, paper and cellulosic textile products, as well as paper and packaging. Our capabilities span wood chipping, pulping, bleaching and downstream processing into final products. By connecting these stages, we can study and optimise the relationship between wood raw materials, processing conditions and end-product performance.
We offer an applied research perspective and expertise across the wood-to-product chain, supporting collaborative development of sustainable processes and innovative forest-based materials.
