We are experienced in performing LCAs and sustainability assessments on wood-based products including composite materials, chemicals, cascading use etc. We can cover call requirements on "consider environmental performance and lifecycle impacts, including carbon storage" and fulfillment of the "do no significant harm (DNSH)" principle.
Furthermore, we aim at providing strategic future-oriented decision support so that all developed products are still compatible with changing boundary conditions in a defosssilised and circular economy.

Founded in 1978, IFEU is one of the leading environmental think tanks in Germany. With more than 100 staff members from various disciplines, IFEU seeks answers to urgent environmental and sustainability questions in a scientific, independent, practical, transdisciplinary, creative, and holistic manner. IFEU is organised as a non-profit limited company and undertakes research and provides consultancy services worldwide on behalf of many national and international clients. In more than 45 years, several thousand studies and projects have been carried out on circular economy, the sustainable and environmentally friendly design of products, processes, and material flows, the transition to a bio-economy within planetary boundaries, on future-oriented mobility, and on a successful energy transition.
Of particular relevance to this project is IFEU’s track record in leading work packages on integrated sustainability assessment with a particular focus on LCA in dozens of national and international technology development projects in the field of bio-economy and CCU as well as its involvement in the development of large-scale prospective LCA databases.
