Climate-resilient forests, Drought stress, Forest health, Forest disturbances, Decision support systems
TOPIC 1 – Climate-Resilient Forest Systems
We are a research team from Karabük University, Türkiye, currently developing an international research proposal under Topic 1 – Climate-Resilient Forest Systems of the FORESTPathways 2026 Joint Call.
Our research focuses on the impacts of climate change on forest ecosystems, particularly forest responses to drought stress, forest health, and resilience to biotic and abiotic disturbances.
We aim to develop integrated approaches to forest vulnerability assessment, monitoring, and climate-resilient forest management, with potential applications in early warning and decision-support systems.
We are seeking European research partners with complementary expertise in forest ecology, climate change, forest physiology, forest entomology, remote sensing, ecological modelling, and sustainable forest management.
We welcome collaboration with universities, research institutes, and other relevant organisations interested in jointly developing a competitive international research proposal.
Karabük University is a public university in Türkiye. The Faculty of Forestry conducts research in forest ecology, forest protection, forest health, forest management, and the impacts of environmental changes on forest ecosystems.
Our research team has experience in forest ecosystem assessment, forest health monitoring, and interdisciplinary forestry research.
For the FORESTPathways 2026 Joint Call, we are developing a collaborative research initiative with national research institutions and seeking international partners to strengthen the scientific and applied dimensions of the proposed project.
We are particularly interested in interdisciplinary cooperation that combines field-based forestry research with innovative monitoring, modelling, and decision-support approaches.
