TOPIC 4 – Forest Value Chains, Markets and Governance
Ecofor Consulting AB is interested in joining international research and innovation consortia under Topic 4, focusing on circular utilisation of industrial residues, nutrient recycling and sustainable resource management in forest-based value chains.
We offer over 20 years of practical experience in wood ash recycling, forest fertilisation and the beneficial use of industrial by-products from energy production and forest-related industries.
Our expertise covers the entire value chain, from the characteristics and handling of residual materials to processing, logistics, regulatory compliance and practical application in forestry.
Potential contributions to research projects include:
- Assessing the technical and commercial feasibility of recycling wood ash and other mineral-rich industrial residues in forestry.
- Evaluating material quality, treatment requirements, processing options and logistics for nutrient recycling.
- Supporting the development and practical evaluation of ash granulation and innovative spreading technologies, including drone-based applications.
- Assessing environmental regulations, permitting requirements and other barriers to implementation.
- Analysing costs, business models and market opportunities for circular material flows.
- Supporting pilot projects, stakeholder cooperation and pathways towards industrial implementation.
Ecofor can contribute as an industrial specialist, feasibility assessment partner or implementation expert, complementing academic research with practical experience of the technical, commercial and regulatory conditions required for successful application.
