Urban cooling effect, Urban Open Space and Bioclimatic Comfort
TOPIC 1 – Climate-Resilient Forest Systems
I am interested in joining international research consortia focusing on climate-resilient forest and landscape ecosystems, ecosystem services, and nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation. My research expertise includes urban ecology, bioclimatic comfort, vegetation design, urban cooling effects, and the assessment of vegetation and surface materials under different environmental conditions. My recent research has examined the cooling performance of trees, shrubs, and paving materials, as well as the role of vegetation configurations in improving outdoor thermal conditions.
Within collaborative projects, I could contribute expertise in vegetation assessment, field-based environmental measurements, microclimate analysis, landscape ecological assessment, and the evaluation of nature-based solutions. I am particularly interested in interdisciplinary research investigating how vegetation structure and composition influence ecosystem resilience, local climate regulation, and environmental sustainability. I would welcome collaboration with partners working on forest resilience, climate adaptation, and sustainable ecosystem management, particularly where landscape architecture and ecological assessment can complement forestry and environmental sciences.
Bursa Technical University (BTU) is a public university in Türkiye committed to research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Within the field of landscape architecture, research activities address vegetation, landscape ecology, environmental sustainability, and the relationship between natural systems and the built environment. Relevant research expertise includes vegetation assessment, urban microclimate, bioclimatic comfort, green infrastructure, and nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation. The university provides an academic setting for collaborative research integrating environmental assessment, field measurements, and sustainable landscape planning. We are interested in international partnerships that contribute to climate resilience, ecosystem services, and the sustainable management of forest and landscape ecosystems.
