TOPIC 2 – Adaptive and Multifunctional Forest Management Systems
The University of Burgos (Spain) is interested in joining an international consortium under Topic 2 as a funded research partner, contributing expertise in UAV and satellite remote sensing, advanced sensor technologies, artificial intelligence and geospatial analysis.
Our team can contribute to or lead a technology-focused work package covering:
- Development of UAV-based monitoring methodologies using RGB, multispectral, hyperspectral, thermal and LiDAR sensors.
- AI and machine learning for vegetation monitoring, change detection and predictive modelling.
- Multisensor data fusion, integrating UAV, satellite and ground-based observations.
- Development of geospatial tools and decision-support systems for adaptive forest management.
We are particularly interested in projects addressing forest resilience, environmental monitoring and data-driven forest management.
Our contribution would focus on technology and methodological development, using field data and validation sites provided by other consortium partners.
The University of Burgos (UBU) is a public Spanish university with experience in national and international research and innovation projects.
The research of the gruop focuses on UAV and satellite remote sensing, multispectral, hyperspectral and thermal imaging, LiDAR, artificial intelligence, sensor integration and geospatial decision-support systems.
The team develops advanced sensing methodologies, image-processing workflows, machine learning models and integrated geospatial solutions for vegetation monitoring, environmental assessment and precision agriculture.
UBU offers complementary technological expertise for interdisciplinary projects addressing forest monitoring, climate resilience and sustainable forest management.
