in vitro culture, vegetative propagation, transcriptomics, rooting, acclimation
TOPIC 1 – Climate-Resilient Forest Systems
We are interested in joining a consotium under Topics 1 and/or 2. We have extensive experience in the in vitro culture of woody species, including Quercus sps. and Castanea. The in vitro working system might be of interest for validation studies in the context of this call. Related experimental equipement also includes bioreactors for growth optimization/acclimation, temperature-controlled chamber and greenhouse. Our studies mainly focus on vegetative propagation of recalcitrant species and the optimization of current protocols through phytohormone modulation, among other approaches. We also carry out molecular biology and bioinformatics studies, like transcriptomics, qPCR, metatranscriptomics and systems biology analyses.
Galician Biological Mission is an institute that belongs to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and it is located in NorthWest Spain. Our group, Woody Species Biotechnology, focuses on several aspects related to the in vitro culture of native woody species, particularly the optimization of vegetative propagation protocols, conservation of valuable germoplasm, phytopathology, etc.
