TOPIC 3 – Timber and Innovative Wood-Based Products
NORSUS wishes to offer its services to become a potential partner in projects targeted at Topic 3. Our expertise lies within environmental and resource efficiency across various industries and service areas, using advanced Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and systems analysis. We specialise in quantifying environmental impacts throughout entire value chains, from initial resource extraction to downstream circularity and resource recovery. Our experience includes modelling and analysing value chains for wood-based materials and chemicals, including the utilisation of by-products and residual materials for reuse and recycling.
NORSUS (Norwegian Institute for Sustainability Research) is an independent, non-profit research institute working exclusively within sustainability science. We specialise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and environmental systems analysis, applying and developing methods to manage life cycle data and accelerate the transition to a sustainable society. The institute consists of more than 30 active researchers dedicated to quantifying environmental impacts, with a strong track record of documenting bio-based materials and forestry-related value chains. We deliver high-precision data and decision-support tools for both industry and policymakers.
